About the event
A slow, relaxing, melting Yin Yoga session. Followed by a deep, restorative Yoga Nidra practice.
Yin yoga focuses on the deep connective tissues in the body. It slows you down, brings your attention mindfully into the body. By holding an asana(posture) for several minutes, you get a deep stretch (or a controlled compression) on the connective tissues and fascia. This brings more circulation and lubrication to the joints, and more space, flexibility and lightness in the body.
We finish our class with a delicious Yoga Nidra session aka “Sleep Yoga”. This is a guided meditation which brings you deeper and deeper into relaxation. The aim is to stay awake, but to slow down the brain waves. This state is incredibly healing for the mind-body connection and a powerful moment to let go of old beliefs and for setting new intentions.
In a culture that’s always on the go, having a consistent practice that slows you down and brings you back into connection is pure medicine.
A few benefits of a Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra practice:
- Learning to listen better to the boundaries and needs of your beautiful body.
- Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system for relaxation, recovery and digestion.
- It promotes healthy weight by bringing in more balance.
- Release of stored emotion and blockages.
- It restores the loving relationship with your body and emotions.
- Lowering stress, depression and anxiety.
- It improves sleep as well as more energy during the day.

Language
As a Dutch teacher I love switching to English if that means I can welcome women from all backgrounds. I also completely understand that English isn’t easy for everyone and that it can hold you back from truly opening up during our gathering.
If you are only comfortable with Dutch, or only with English, please let me know via the comment section when you book this gathering. I’ll happily juggle both languages if needed. Always feel free to reach out!
Join our introducution classes during the Open Week (16 - 22 September) to see if this gets you moving in all the right ways :)
